Currently, Lucas is storing his shoes in a multipurpose box that also includes Lego bricks and Duplo pieces. I wanted to put together a more efficient way for him to store his shoes, so I came up with the idea of an under bed shoe rack. Basically, it would be a tray, on wheels, sized to fit lots of his shoes, that could slide out from under his bed as and when required. I’ve configured it to hold 8 sets of shoes, and it rolls on six sets of wheels. I used glue and nails from my nail gun to hold it all together, with a sheet of plywood acting as the base. The sides of the tray were made from simple one, and I also glued and nailed 3 cross pieces underneath to stiffen the tray as a whole. They would also serve as the way to affix the wheels. The final step, after sanding, was too paint it all white so that it matched the rest of Lucas’ furniture.
