This is one of the projects that I’ve designed myself. I was looking for a way to keep the pieces of wood that are part of my pocket hole jigs tightly together while I drive home the screws. This, I have discovered, is quite important in that it ensures that the fit is tight. Not surprisingly, I made this discovery through trial and error, and being a little bit disappointed with some of the first pocket hole jigs that I’ve made. Another thing that was central to my work here was the need to be able to use a jig that allowed end joints (i.e. corners) but also end to middle joints (that is, T joints).
The design I came up with was like a cube with a few chunks taken out. I’ve trialled it on a few different things and it has worked out pretty well.
